Sometimes we turn the blame to our bodies not the lives we are leading

How often have you looked at your body and thought if you:

  • Looked a certain way you’d be happy.

  • That if your body was stronger you wouldn’t be in pain.

  • That if you looked a certain way you’d be more confident .

  • That if you were x or Y things would be better?

  • That if you did this or that you’d perform better?

Often we always see our bodies as the problem or thing to fix,  but we never look at the what in our life that is making us feel this way.

Maybe if we flipped our perspectives and instead of finding the fault in our looks or performance, maybe we should think

That if our lives weren’t in a constant cycle of stressors we’d recover better.

If we weren’t so focused on meeting a certain aesthetic, we see online we’d enjoy the process and approach our health from a Longevity perspective rather than a quick fix.

Maybe if our lives allowed is to feel a sense of contentment with what we have in this current moment, we wouldn’t place our happiness or self-worth on achieving something we think will make us feel better.

Self-awareness is key.

Health and training is never linear and so often we throw the towel in when we don’t see immediate results or we find fault in ourselves when we don’t meet a certain goal or standard.  Questioning or looking at what is in our lives that is making us feel a certain way allows us to put the steps in place to build a foundation that allows us and our bodies to feel good in the things we are doing.

Whilst I’m all for achieving things we want too, I think there is a sustainable and more enjoyable approach that is going to build a foundation to get you where you want to be.
