Under nourishment vs Over nourishment

Have you ever considered maybe you’re under eating? Not over eating?

So often when I see companies advertising meal plans, the calories are SO SO low. Some as low as 1200 calories.

Under eating has just as many side effects and health issues as overheating.

As a society were so focused on restricting calories, and eating less/moving more, that we never take into consideration the fact that we could be under -eating.

When I ask to look at people’s daily intake on a normal week most of the time they are not eating enough calories or severely lacking in protein or carbs. Especially us ladies!

We think we eat enough, based on what we read in magazines and what we see online, but when we actually look at our energy outputs, and this isn’t just our energy out puts in the gym, we are actually under eating.

Online we so often see the promotion of eating 1500 to 1800 calories but this is what an active 15 to 19-year-old should be eating.

1800 calories is also suggested to a sedentary 18 to 30 year old female and even if we work desk jobs, we are still not sedentary or bed bound because we move about naturally.

Calorie expenditure also increases with high stress, which in the world that we live in, is definitely something to consider.

Calories are energy and if you live an active lifestyle have muscle mass or want to get stronger and gain muscle you need to eat. 1800 calories is not going to cut it.
