Mindset and Trust in your training after an injury

Some days I have to drag myself to train, not because I am tired but because I get really in my head about what is programmed in my session.

Coming back from an injury means there are still movements that make me feel nervous and vulnerable. I have to really get into a particular mindset to do.

Telling yourself you CANT do something/ that you’ll get hurt or thinking about the worst case scenario causes you to tense up, over think, stress and most likely get some sensations that are uncomfortable when training.

Some things that help are :

1. Visualation/rehearsing the movement in your head

2. Deep Breaths: making your inhale longer than your exhale

3.  Rest in between exercises and again focusing on your breath. Are you breathing from your chest or focusing on deep belly breaths?

4. Trusting yourself.

This applies to everything in life that makes your second guess yourself or gives you a sense of fear.
